If you want to create a new site using WordPress, you may be wondering how long it will take you to build it. The answer will vary depending on the type of website you want to create, the number of pages, and the amount of customizations you wish to make. Bill Erickson explains the different stages of the building process. The longer the process takes, the more complex the site will become.
The size of your project will dictate how much time you need to dedicate to it. Generally, a website with five or six pages should take no more than 20 hours. You can increase this number if you plan to include more than a dozen pages on your site. However, be aware that the number of pages can increase over time if you add more complicated pages. If you plan to have many sub-pages on your website, your project size will be much larger than if you have only a few pages.
Once you’ve chosen a theme, the next step is building your site. WordPress offers many themes and tools that make this process incredibly simple. However, you’ll still need to prepare content and product requirements. The process can take a few days or a few weeks. Make sure to give yourself at least two days to review your site and determine what you want to add or remove.
