How to Create a WordPress Custom Domain

If you want to create a custom domain for your WordPress blog, you need to configure your DNS to point to the new one. There are a few steps you need to follow to make this work. After you’ve set up your DNS, you can add additional sites to your account and then change their URL to the new one. To do so, simply go to the settings page of your blog and click on the Advanced DNS tab. If you need more help, check out our article on advanced DNS settings in WordPress.

First, remember that custom domains aren’t always necessary. If you only use your blog as a hobby, you might not even need one. But if you’re planning on monetizing your blog, you’ll need to have a custom domain. The main advantage of custom domains is their length. The /blog subdomain on a WordPress website won’t have nearly the same SEO power as a main domain, which means your blog posts will have more chance of being ranked high on search engines. Also, people won’t take your blog as seriously if it’s on a subdomain.

A WordPress site has two primary content types, posts and pages. Blog posts are an advanced form of webpage and are published in reverse chronological order. A blog post will appear on the front page of your WordPress website, but you can change it if you want. Then, you can add custom menus to your site through the Dashboard, or by going to Appearance, Menus. Once you’ve done this, you can then choose the custom domain and set up the content you need.
